History

Arc Growing Software was started in 1996 by several employees of the retired Micro Vane company of Kalamazoo, Michigan. When Micro Vane decided to retire their MVP Plant Program for growers rather than redesign it for Y2K and Windows, it was the perfect opportunity to start a new company and system for these growers. Knowing that no two growers operate exactly alike, we went back to these growers to help us redesign the system. We were fortunate to have a wide variety of growers, including bedding plant, foliage, perennial, nursery growers, seed suppliers and propagators – help us develop the system. We can truly say that Arc is designed for Growers, by Growers.

Arc Merges with Picas from Innovative Software Solutions

The Arc System has been constantly expanding through the years to keep up with the demands of industry and technology. Arc was in the middle of a major upgrade when Innovative Software Solutions approached them about working together. Many companies had been interested in working with Arc in the past, so the Arc staff didn’t expect much to come from the meeting. But it was quickly obvious that the team at ISS was distinctly different from other companies - they were more concerned about taking care of their existing customers than just landing new sales. As Arc and ISS started looking at ways to share technology, it became apparent that both companies would highly benefit by becoming one company. ISS officially bought out Arc in early 2011.

Together as a team, we are committed to continuing to meet the needs of small to mid-sized growers, and are working hard to redesign Arc software to keep up with the demands of this industry. By pooling our 30+ years of experience we will now be able to provide the best solutions possible for all growers.
